With 2012 rapidly drawing to a close, it feels like a time for reflecting and for looking ahead. I will be doing another post that looks at 2012 and all it has involved (and it has involved so much!) but for now - I am focusing on food. It's easier.
Here are some of the dishes that I have most enjoyed making and eating this year, in sweet and savoury form. I would love to hear your favourite 2012 meals too, either from your own blog or elsewhere!
Sweet things
Bakewell tarts (vegan)
Banana bread cake (vegan)
Brownie bites with avocado and coconut flour (vegan, no bake)
Chocolate strawberry tart (vegan)
Lavender, lemon and pistachio cheesecake (vegan, raw)
Ugly Duckling Muffins (vegan, low-fat)
Savoury things
Avocado scones with hemp seeds (vegan)
Celeriac fries (vegan)
Chickea (besan flour) pancakes (vegan)
Smoky roast almonds (vegan)
What are some of your favourite recipes from 2012?
ALL of these look so good! I love the chocolate strawberry tart. You've definitely eaten well in 2012. Can't wait to hear about your other adventures. ❤
ReplyDeleteThank you Colynn :)
DeleteI love year-end recipe roundups - I'm planning on posting one in the next few days. Everything here looks great, and your chickpea pancakes look so much better than any ones I've attempted! I really like the look of the bakewell tarts, too. Nom!
ReplyDeleteThanks Allysia! I need to do the chickpea pancakes again I think - I'd sort of forgotten them until doing this post :P
DeleteYou have done really well with all of those recipes. There is not one thing that I wouldn't eat! Awesome that you have mastered raw too :)
ReplyDeleteThank you Cass :)
DeleteI've always loved these roundups! They remind me of so many dishes I wanted to make but never got a chance to. All of your recipes look so delicious!
ReplyDeleteThey also have the benefit of reminding me of the things I made and loved and then didn't make much again :P Thank you Joanne!
DeleteI love the little bakewell tarts and lavendar biscuits especially. Wishing you a happy new year!
ReplyDeleteThank you - and you too :) Those tarts and biscuits are definitely up there for me too, even out of this round up.
DeleteI've got people coming over for drinks tonight and I'd love to make your smoky almonds. Happy New Year to you, Kari and Mr Bite xx
ReplyDeleteAnd you too Charlie - and I hope you enjoy the almonds if you make them!
DeleteI love these posts at the end of year - reminds me of all that I meant to make - the avocado scones, the bakewell tarts and your lavendar baking are all high on my to do list - but since our scottish trip there hasn't been a lot of kitchen activity other than the mandatory christmas stuff - but come the new year I have high hopes - look forward to more inspiration on your blog in 2013
ReplyDeleteThank you Johanna, and I hope you enjoy those three if and when you get to them. The nice thing about recipes is that they do wait on you, if needed :) A very Happy New Year to you and I'll look forward to hearing what your 2013 brings.
DeleteThat's a lot of favourite recipes! My favourite of yours is your lemon bars - they were so yummy, and easy to make :)
ReplyDeleteThey were high contenders for this list too :) I had trouble choosing, as you may have guessed!
