I am linking this into cityhippyfarmgirl's 'loving this week' post number 7. Her 'loving this week' posts are about the little moments in your week that have tickled your heart.
Here are some of the things that have recently tickled mine...
Beetroot sourdough bread from Lawley's bakery
An unexpected find. I love the colour and (somewhat surprisingly) the taste
Summer fruit
Lots and lots of summer fruit
Running in my new running shoes
They make me faster, I am sure of it
Baking to ease away inexplicable, no-reason-to-be-anxious-but-I-am anxiety
Mixing, stirring, tasting, baking, breathe
The baking result
No added sugar apple and zucchini muffins that are a twist on these 'ugly duckling' muffins
(the twist being the omission of carrot, the omission of brown sugar, and the addition of ground oats to replace the plain flour)
Jigsaw puzzling
We still have a lot to go...
Playing with my camera
Alternating coffee with almond milk and coffee with hemp seed milk
I was trying to reduce my two coffees a day to one coffee a day, but I have given up
Printing wedding and honeymoon photos
The albums are yet to be created, but at least the photo selection is done!
What are you loving this week?
I'm loving the gorgeous delicate purple flowers on my sage! and walking along the beach in the sunshine...
ReplyDeleteI know that anxiety- I hope it dissipates quickly and you're all smiles :)
Thank you Claire :) And it sounds like you have some lovely things happening in your week too!
DeleteYou're the second person to mention beetroot sourdough in the last couple of days Kari...now what's that trying to tell me? Lots of lovely things going on for you this week (aside from anxiety moments.) I also got new running shoes this week, will they make me run faster?...I'm hoping so!
ReplyDeleteThank you for linking up lovely :-)
You are most welcome - thank you for the inspiration :-)
DeleteI think the beetroot is calling to you, that's what I think...!
your week has sounded amazing. i agree on the running shoe front - totally makes you faster ;) x
ReplyDeleteTotally :-)
DeleteOh my dear, I'm sorry you are experiencing anxiety! I totally have that too..like all the time lately. I hope baking helped and that you're feeling better!
ReplyDeleteThanks Gabby - I guess if there is one good thing about experiencing anxiety semi-regularly, it is that you learn that it comes and goes, and so I am sure it will go as readily as it came! Baking does always help (and now I want to make your latest carob almond butter cups ;) ).
DeleteWhen I was jogging I was sure new shoes made me run faster. Looking forward to hopefully seeing a few more wedding photos??? xx
ReplyDeleteI'll have to see if I have any more that don't reveal who I am! It's tricky, this keeping one's identity private online thing ;)
DeleteLove to the gold old west aussie black swans!
ReplyDeleteThey are a classic aren't they?
DeleteLove those pictures, they are beautiful! I broke my camera when we were in New Orleans last January and sadly I haven't gotten it fixed yet. I actually think I broke the lens. My strap broke sending my camera crashing to the sidewalk. It was not good and I was so angry. ARGH.
ReplyDeleteOh no! I would be angry too - what an awful experience. I will be checking my strap now!
DeleteAwesome pictures! And how exciting to pic out the wedding albums :)
ReplyDeleteIt really was! Thank you :)
DeleteI fully relate to trying to reduce your coffee to one cup a day. Me too. And I also give up.
ReplyDeleteThank goodness I'm not the only one.
DeleteLook at that sun! That sun! Begone, anxiety. Leave Kari alone. She has sunshine, a wonderful husband, wedding photos, and much success in her life. Leave her alone. x
ReplyDeleteAh, bless you Hannah - thank you. It does amuse me (slightly) how irrational anxiety can be. It's those days I have no idea why I'm anxious that are the most perplexing - but at least I know they'll pass :-)
DeleteI'd like to send you some sunshine but fear it wouldn't survive the trip...
What I've learnt is that, in some ways, the irrational anxiety days can be easier/dismissed as long as you focus on the fact that, because it's irrational, you also know that it will simply fly away again, just as quickly as it came.
DeleteSo true - that must be one of the most important (or quite possibly the most important) thing I've learnt with age :)
Deleteoooh that bread looks great!
ReplyDeleteYour week sounds awesome :) Loving your pictures and I'm feeling the anxiety thing this week too. Deep breathes - this too shall pass.
ReplyDeleteIndeed :-)
DeleteThat bread does look good - I'm loving the craziness of having two dogs to entertain!
ReplyDeleteOoh, that does sound crazy!
DeleteThat is a lot of great stuff to love! I made beet root muffins once, they were pretty awesome and really pretty! I do almond milk in my coffee too and I love playing with my camera also, your pics look great!
ReplyDeleteI am loving this week of painting owls on rocks (yes, pinterest!), putting up the Christmas tree and enjoying caraway seed on toast with over easy egg on Sunday mornings. Hope you have a fabulous week!
I love the idea of beetroot muffins! I've only ever made chocolate beetroot brownies, and think I need to branch out.
DeleteCaraway seed on toast sounds lovely, as does having your Christmas tree up :)
What a lovely post! I love your description of baking. I too find that it's a way to soothe anxiety.
ReplyDeleteI'm loving that I got to spend time with my family over the weekend! And I'm loving that my kitty missed me so much that she's being extra cuddly/lovey upon my return. : )
Aw, that does sound lovely - pets have some real advantages :)
DeleteHow exciting, wedding photos! I am loving those photos you've taken of swans and flowers and whatnot. I'm at a conference this week, so I'm loving salad wraps and meeting interesting people (but I also find networking so exhausting).
ReplyDeleteI'm glad it's not just me that finds networking draining - it really doesn't come naturally to me! I hope you enjoy the time though, the interesting parts and salad wrap parts sound good :)
DeleteWhat fun! Thanks for sharing. This week I am loving the fact that the sun has finally come to Melbourne, and that I have wonderful friends who cared for me after a day surgery on Monday.
ReplyDeleteOh, that sounds like a bit of a mixed list :S I hope you're recovering from the surgery but am also glad you had friends to step in to help out afterwards.
Deleteooooo I love your camera-play-photos - beautiful!
ReplyDeleteI am loving hot days followed by thunderstorms.... teaching my first few pre natal yoga classes.... creating tasty snacks in the kitchen.... long walks with misty :)
Ooh, pre-natal yoga classes? Congratulations! And long walks are always wonderful :)
Deleteoooh, i'm loving those zucchini muffins too!! and SOO exciting the wedding photo's are back and at ur disposal to get ur album'ing on! :)
ReplyDeleteThanks Cait!
Deletegorgeous photos - I wish my playing with my camera was so successful - I usually end up doing lots of washed out and dark photos when I try to use manual (are these done using manual). The bread sounds amazing too.
ReplyDeleteI end up with lots of washed our and dark ones too, don't worry ;) It's a serious process of trial and error still!
