365 project: March photos

With April upon us (and upon us for nearly a week now!), it's time for another photo recap, this time for my March photo-a-day snapshots.

March was the first month when daily photography became challenging, which I think is a combination of time passing (months 1 and 2 were always going to be easier than the rest of the year!) and time seeming in short supply in March. I expected that going away would help, and it did, but it also meant that home and work were correspondingly busier around the trip.

Given the above, my March photos were not all taken on the day I have allocated them to. Some days I took several photos I liked, and I have taken the flexible approach of spreading them out over consecutive days if needed.

Here are the 31 resulting images...

1st: Lazy days / 2nd: Edible summer / 3rd: Peek a boo / 4th: Convent by night / 5th: Bird (#1)

6th: Bird (#2) / 7th: Working hard / 8th: Light trails / 9th: Mushroom / 10th: Rest spot

11th: Sun set / 12th: Back lit / 13th: Golden egg / 14th: Breaking wave / 15th: Windmill

16th: Walking / 17th: Salmon gum / 18th: Wave rock / 19th: Hellfire Bay / 20th: Lake Ballard

21st: Time piece / 22nd: Heat map birthday / 23rd: Glowing clouds / 24th: Flying / 25th: Keys

26th: Corner colour / 27th: Hello shoes / 28th: Marigold the snail / 29th: New planting / 30th: Tandem cycling

31st: East Perth parkland

I think I like numbers 1, 19 and 24 best this month. What about you?

  1. Love this project - I love photos 5, 15 and 24. Is the tandem bike something you just saw or something you rode - I would love to ride one but am sure it would be a challenging experience. Nice to have your travel photos included here. Is the 22nd a photo that you use special effects on or did you photograph something odd coloured?

    1. Thanks Johanna :-) Number 22nd had 'heat map' editing imposed in Picasa, which is an effect I love but I'm not sure it's entirely accurate with regard to where heat is in the image.

We did indeed ride a tandem! Our experience is in my blogging queue but suffice to say it was a little challenging with regard to balance, more so for me than Mr Bite (my coordination is not wonderful), but very fun!

  4. You're doing great! I feel like I'm dialing it in right now. Having a hard time keeping up with the project this time around. I think I just have too much going on at once. I can't wait until my class ends in mid-May!!

    I like the ones you mentioned. Also 23, 25, & 28

    1. You have definitely had a lot to be managing Lisa. I'm glad it's only 5 weeks until your class ends now - and hope life settles down after that for you!

    1. It is certainly an adventure (tandem biking) - very fun but a bit like being a 5-year-old again learning to cycle, for the first few minutes!

  6. 18 and 23 are my favourites. You're a great landscape photographer Kari :)

  7. I think it's better to fudge the days a little and really enjoy what you are doing than to feel like you have to take photos even when you don't have time or motivation! I started the #100happydays photo thing, but my 100 days aren't all consecutive ;)

    1. Excellent! I couldn't agree more - and at the end of the 100 days, or 365 days, it really isn't going to matter whether a few days don't fully match up to the date.
