This weekend...
The sun has been shining and the smell of spring is in the air,
things have been growing,
strawberries are featuring,
some computer-based work has been necessary,
but bikes have also been used,

This week...
I have three presentations to write and one to deliver,
there is a paper to finish and a number of reports to edit,
there are meetings galore,
and on Thursday, I fly to Adelaide (South Australia) for a work conference.
Right now...
I am content in spite of the busy-ness,
happy in the knowledge that in two weeks time, I will be married,
and married to a man who is so perfectly wonderful, and so perfectly right,
that he makes work fade into the background even when it is pushing into the foreground.

What has your weekend looked like?
Only two weeks until the wedding. That is so exciting. I hope you're able to clear away all that is pressing before then. We're feeling like Spring is just around the corner here in Sydney too. The days are longer, the night's more mild and you can go outside with one less layer xx
ReplyDeleteMilder nights and longer days are one of the things I love about spring - it gives more time in the day, aside from anything else! And thanks for the excitement sharing :) I am definitely hoping to clear lots away in the next fortnight!
DeleteTwo weeks to go - wow! Best to be busy now and clear some space to enjoy the wedding! So much rain yesterday morning but the weather has been kinder once we were out and about. Love the books. Am a fan of a few authors in the pile. Mr Steingarten is always entertaining!
ReplyDeleteI'm really looking forward to the Steingarten one :) I'm glad your weather cleared up (you need some of ours!) and I can not believe it's 2 weeks to go. Eek!
DeleteThose pictures look amazing! Can't wait for the wedding -- so exciting :)
ReplyDeleteThank you!
DeleteWow, can't believe you are juggling all that plus getting married in two weeks!! How exciting :) Have a safe trip to Adelaide, we'll be in Adelaide on Sunday!
ReplyDeleteOh how funny! I leave on Saturday night :P
DeleteI read It Must've Been Something I Ate back in 2007 when studying at UVA - hilarious. You'll love it.
ReplyDeleteBreathe and keep enjoying your moments, friend!
You may have convinced me to make it one of my 'take away to Europe' books :)
DeleteBreathing is a serious focus right now. It's helpful having an end point to breathe up to!
Good luck on your presentations :D
ReplyDeleteLooks like you had beautiful weather over the weekend
Thank you Kailey - and thank you for stopping by!
DeleteSigh, I love it when life is so good even the cruddy parts are just fine. Yay for love and happiness!
ReplyDelete:) Thanks Lisa xx
DeleteOh my goodness!! Two weeks!! :) I love it when weekends fall together like this. I had a busy busy weekend! I crashed when I went to bed last night...I don't remember a thing!
ReplyDeleteI hope your week has started off a bit more relaxed!
DeleteLike you, I ate a punnet of sweet sweet strawberries! Though, I still couldn't help but sprinkle some sugar :)
ReplyDeleteI tend to put my sugar in baking but some of these strawberries did go down that path :)
DeleteOh my goodness, that is one of the sweetest things I have ever heard: "Right now...I am content in spite of the busy-ness, happy in the knowledge that in two weeks time, I will be married, and married to a man who is so perfectly wonderful, and so perfectly right, that he makes work fade into the background even when it is pushing into the foreground."
ReplyDeleteHave a wonderful, amazing wedding day!
