This ANZAC Day (the anniversary of the first major military action fought by Australian and New Zealand forces during the First World War), we did the same as last year and headed out of the city.
I think I'll let the pictures speak for themelves...
A different sort of Wednesday, that is for sure. Quite a lot better than a day spent sitting at a desk at work!
For fellow Australians, what did you get up to yesterday?
For those elsewhere, did your Wednesday involve anything out of the ordinary?
Our weather was dreary - too wet to go out so we sat inside and baked ANZAC biscuits and bread - your walk looks lovely
ReplyDeleteA mid-week public holiday spent baking biscuits and bread sounds quite lovely, although I imagine you might have liked some fine weather too. Hopefully some of the baked products made up for it!
DeleteIt was gorgeous here, so we spent some time in our new garden, planting things and taking other things out. I put in ginger, nasturtiums, calendula, and pineapples.
ReplyDeleteOh, wonderful! I am so excited about your new garden, it's motivating me to get a bit more organised with updating my courtyard :P
Deletewhat lovely scenery for a walk!!!
ReplyDeleteThanks Lisa!
DeleteVery beautiful pictures!
ReplyDeleteThank you Tasha :)
DeleteThat is some gorgeous terrain!
ReplyDeleteIt really was - so much nicer than the usual neighbourhood tracks and paths!
DeleteWhat beautiful images. That looks very peaceful. We spent the day relaxing and having lunch with friends. xx
ReplyDeleteRelaxing and having lunch with friends sounds delightful...perfect for a mid-week public holiday! Our trip was very peaceful, so it sounds like we both managed to get some relaxing into the Wednesday.
DeleteThese are some great pictures! I love being outside when it's beautiful! :)
ReplyDeleteMe too :) It's so much nicer than being at work, that is for sure!!
DeleteBeautiful pictures! :)
ReplyDeleteThanks!
DeleteWhat a lovely place! We converged at Mum and Dad's, ate pies and pavlova and watched the footy. I do love a mid-week break, this week seems to have flown by!
ReplyDeleteI'm so taken with the Wednesday off scenario, that I'm quite keen to make it permanent. Wouldn't that be lovely? No more than 2 days of work at once...
DeleteWe entertained friends but didn't do much other than talk, eat and drink :)
ReplyDeleteI DID make my first batch of ANZAC biscuits ever!
So very exciting :) I hope you are enjoying them!
DeleteIt looks like it was abeautiful day on Anzac Day in your part of the world. It was dire in Melbourne. Hope you had a great Anzac Day.
ReplyDeleteIt does sound like it was nicer here than in Victoria - I hope your weather has cleared up since!
