1. Autumn has been beautiful. Cool, crisp mornings and evenings. Blue skies and sunshine during the day.
2. Whipped peanut butter was on special at Coles for $2. And I didn't buy it.
In some ways, the heavily discounted price actually helped. It highlights that everyone else is managing to steer clear of the paying-for-air thing :P
In saying that, for those of you who were keen to try this, now might be a good time to make the purchase...
3. Soft-serve frozen yoghurt. Again.
This time, in natural, coconut, strawberry, and lychee flavours. I didn't like the lychee.
4. We have a wedding date. And location.
And a tiny guest list that is just the length we want :-)
4. Aztec fruit.
I discovered this at my local fruit and vegetable markets. I think the proper name may be a white sapote, but I'm not entirely certain of that. Does anyone know? The flesh is smooth and creamy and tastes like a sweet, custard-y melon.
Whatever the proper name, I love it.
What is happening in your life this weekend?
These sorts of skies are one of the things that best defines Perth for me - they aren't always there, but when the sky is clear, it really is vivid.

Apologies for the poor photo here - I couldn't for the life of me take a good close up shot |
AHHH...wedding date and place set...CONGRATS!!! so exciting...u gonna look so purdy. :) have to agree that those are some awesome lately happenings for you, please pass the fro-yo. hehe
ReplyDeleteThanks Cait :)
DeleteI like the Aztec fruit - I have never seen them before. Lots of cooking here today.
ReplyDeleteLots of cooking is always good!
DeleteOh, how wonderful that you've got such a crucial part of the wedding organised already! I've never been one to imagine a wedding (even as a kid, I could never believe I'd get married, even thinking of it felt like jinxing it), but if I did, I'd want it to be small and just about celebrating love in front of the people closest to me. None of this prestige-showmanship-hundreds-of-people-you-barely-know for me!
ReplyDeleteIn short, your wedding sounds (already) perfect :)
Oh, thank you Hannah - that means so much, because we've had mostly good reactions to the small thing, but a few people are trying to be understanding but clearly don't get it! I have never been one to imagine weddings either, but I am certainly one to shy away from hundreds of people looking at me!
DeleteMuch better to have a small amount of people look at you hundreds of times. :D
DeleteBahaha...now you might have put me off completely :)
DeleteI love how you have your wedding date and that the guest list is finalised. Oh to be a fly on the wall at your big day! Such exciting times. And I have never had Aztec fruit. I have heard of it but never tried it. And I would love to! xx
ReplyDeleteThanks Charlie! And the Aztec fruit is definitely worth looking out for - really, really creamy and sweet.
Deleteinteresting...I've never heard of whipped pb before!
ReplyDeleteIt's, well, an interesting product :P
DeleteYes, I saw the PB at Coles too, but got the Almond and Chia paste instead :)
ReplyDeleteDefinitely the right choice Liz! Definitely.
DeleteI hope we hear about your wedding - small weddings are often interesting! I can't believe that autumn isn't over - and that you have blue skies rather than our recent rains! Quiet day here today but still no time for most things I needed to to!
ReplyDeleteOur autumn has, I think, been more like your summer - perhaps even more summery! I'm hoping it doesn't bode badly for the rest of the year (there goes my superstitious and nonsensical thinking...). And I'm sure the wedding will get mentioned - I suspect it would be too hard not to, aside from anything else!
DeleteI just love frozen yogurt!!
ReplyDeleteThe weather looks amazing! I am so jealous!
It has been pretty good! And frozen yoghurt is the perfect match :)
Deleteyay for wedding planning!
ReplyDeleteI just finished a jar of whipped PB - not my thing....
Yeah, I have to wonder how many people it would work for. It should be so much better than it is!
DeleteCongratulations on the wedding planning! You guys are powering.
ReplyDeleteI have never seen anything like that fruit. I love that there are still fruits in the world that I have no idea about, :)
I love that too :) It's like a constant open-ended treasure hunt, of the best sort.
DeleteOur wedding is going to be somewhat quicker than I think is the average timeline, so we ended up having to get into gear! (I should note, quicker because we're timing it around a pre-existing holiday, not quicker for other reasons that shall go unnamed...:P )
Mmm that aztec fruit looks intriguing! And I can't believe you already found the venue! How fun is that?! Did you enjoy that part of the planning? :D And if you don't mind my asking, how many people do you have approximately? We invited 100ish and about 80 came.
ReplyDeleteOh we are so small scale Ellie! I'm impressed with your guest list number -we are both too shy to have anything large scale :P We're going for about 1/20th of the number you invited :P
DeleteYour wedding location looks lovely as does the beautiful blue sky in the first picture!
ReplyDeleteThanks Mel :)
DeleteThat location looks amazing :) And whipped peanut butter! Sounds pretty intriguing!
ReplyDeleteIt is...but kind of disappointing too :/ Sadly!
DeleteGorgeous sky! And good on your self-control with the whipped PB ;-)
ReplyDeleteHappy exciting wedding planning! Is the date soon, or are you having a loooong engagement?
It was a great feeling, walking past the peanut butter :-)
DeleteThe wedding is almost scarily soon - 3 months away!! We already had a trip planned and thought we'd make it the honeymoon :P
Oh wow! Lots of info about short engagements on the blog Offbeatbride.com
DeleteI haven't read that blog in a while, but it was so great during planning, just to see that you can really do anything you want!
That is a great site! We are definitely deviating from the 'normal' sorts of traditions (well, from some of them) so it's rather nice to see how much can be done and how many ways are possible. Thank you :)
DeleteYay! So happy that you have set a date and a place! How pretty is that place! I know that you must be getting so excited. :)
